and we have our first accident! I had JUST taken Alissa to the potty, she didn't go and then she went in her undies. I wonder if she's ready? Should I push her? I've always said they'll just do it on their own time, but on the other hand...can't we teach them to do it with lots of practice?

Make sure you get super excited when she goes in the potty. I mean really happy. Then don't flush it while she's there. Sometimes that scares kids. and sometimes it makes them want to flush everything. Just wait til she leaves :) Good luck!
